Tom and Teresa Pleger Endowed Scholarship

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 7, 2017, Dr. Thomas C. Pleger, former Dean of the Baraboo/Sauk County Campus, passed away because of complications from having brain surgery to remove a tumor. Tom was a scholar and a leader in the field of higher education. He dedicated his all too brief professional career to making the world a better place that would be filled with educated individuals who embrace the philosophy of the liberal arts, life-long learning, and civic engagement.

His passing has been devastating to those who knew him and to the academic community. ”Tom’s legacy should not end with his passing”, said James Kieffer Friend of the Campus Executive Director. An endowment in the name of Tom and his wife Teresa has been established. We will provide financial assistance to students who embrace the qualities that Tom believed in and fostered in those whose lives he touched.
